Although 1991 might be considered an unremarkable vintage, it actually has an
outstanding potential for development. A cool and dry spring gave way to a
period in late June and the whole of July that combined many hours of sunshine
with adequate rainfall. That was followed by a very hot and dry late summer
and, as of the end of September, a wet autumn, in which the challenge was to
take advantage of the few dry days to harvest the grapes.
